Reading this book is just like going to a spa for the soul. Emily’s journey of faith, creativity and self-discovery resonates with my own experiences and struggles as a woman, a writer and a creative person. Sitting down with her book was like soaking in a warm and scented tub or having a full body massage. Her honest words and peacefully simple watercolors found their way into all the tight places and stressful knots of my body, mind and soul. I pre-ordered this book as soon as I read about it on Emily’s blog, and have longed to have it in my hands and to spend a serene day, like a retreat, filling my mind and heart and senses with its beauty. I was delighted to be offered a preview copy, because I have waited so long to see it! There are some pages that scrubbed away at the dead skin in my life, and left me feeling softer and smoother, more at peace and ready to engage with my intense workload again. It also feels like she has poured the fragrant oil of God’s love onto my tired body and tangled mind and is gently massaging away the stress of life. It certainly left me feeling freer and lighter, as it says on the cover, and it will be one of those books that is treasured for life and bought for all my friends who long to live freely and lightly.
