    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

In the West the mystery of the Transfiguration of Christ has not been given its proper due by the churches. This is abundantly not so among the Orthodox, as this considerable study shows. The detailed treatment of the iconic – in the widest sense – representations of the mystery throws up some surprising lines of enquiry in the book. Perhaps the author’s analysis of how Hesychasm dealt with the icon and its theological implications will be most helpful to a wide audience. The author’s command of a large range of printed sources is also very useful for the broader study of this important subject.
