    Psychology For Pastoral Contexts

This is a comprehensive and clear book that gives a simple, yet studied, overview of psychology as it effects pastoral work within a churched setting—though 'churched' here does not mean only a church building but more an framing expression that would encompass christian pastoral work, including Chaplaincy, hospice and other pastoral settings.

It is beginner friendly, and yet also would work well as a refresher for those perhaps moving into a new role or pastoral outreach.

There is also a good section within it that deals with a number of key mental health issues—again these are addressed clearly and simply with an overview of symptoms and suggestions for helpful interaction. Finally it closes with a section dealing with Betrayal and Forgiveness which is a section well worth looking at for any in a ministerial or pastoral function as surely this is a likely topic many will encounter.

A very well balanced and helpful book indeed.
