Chiara Lubich in her long life emphasised constantly in her writings that the primary duty of every human person was to answer the call to love. It was to answer this call herself that she founded the Focolare movement. She reiterated throughout her life that God is love and love is what God expects of every Christian. Everything else counts for nothing if you do not see Jesus in your neighbour and in your enemy. This book consists of short commentaries by Chiara on a multiplicity of extracts from the Old and New Testaments to which she adds personal reflections drawn from the experiences of her own rich and varied life. This is a simple but profound book, full of spiritual nourishment. It can be taken up for a few minutes reading and then reflected on for hours afterwards.
