Mark Oakley has written a new introduction where he considers how in the intervening eleven years some things have changed. He also reflects on what he wrote the first time and how he might now write something different, but yet how strongly the intent and central premise of the work still holds true. Melanie Carroll , July 2012
This book has been written by a priest, who very honestly says that he has 'often felt guilty during the last few years about admitting that I cannot find God where others tell me he is…' At these times he turns to friends who he knows personally, or has befriended through their writing. This has enabled him to piece together all sorts of thoughts and writings from many and varied backgrounds all making a collage of God to which he can turn in times of need. One of the things he has learnt is that God is to be shared before he is ever understood. Here he shares with all of us who have ever doubted, what he has uncovered of God’s hidden presence.
