This is a book about renewal and forgiveness. Kolbell argues in twelve chapters all entitled with a re- word (reconciliation, redemption, revival etc), that we must never despair when we fail in our faith and religious commitment, that God is ever forgiving and that we are always given another chance. Each chapter makes reference to a biblical theme and Kolbell draws also from his wide experience as a minister, retelling relevant stories of friends and acquaintances. The message is that we must strive to achieve perfection and that when we inevitably fail God will always forgive us and we will continue to persevere. This is a book full of rewarding insights into the human condition. It is well worth reading and reflecting on.
