    This book is designed to provide parents with the resources to start reading the Bible on a regular basis with their preschool children: it contains stories from both the Old and the New Testaments and suggests ideas for activities that could be used to reinforce what has been read each day. The format is friendly, which means that this book would be useful for a new parent who had no experience of teaching but who wanted to bring their children up to know and love the Bible. There are stickers to use as rewards and advice on how to pray with your child. This book is obviously the first of a series, which is its main weakness. Six of the New Testament stories are connected with the birth of the Lord Jesus, but there is no mention of his death and resurrection (the last story tells how Jesus calms the storm). The book seems to be aimed at parents who are themselves young in the faith, and to leave the gospel half-untold will not help them lead their children to the Lord. Having said this, it does divide the Bible up into small chunks that can be digested by small appetites (the analogy of a meal is used throughout the book). This would be a good book to give to new parents or to recent believers with children.
