John’s gospel is distinctly different from the other 3 gospels and Mark Stibbe looks at the way it is written, with particular reference to chapter 20, and suggests a possible intriguing insight to the meaning of that passage. It also gives a refreshing and sympathetic view of the character of Mary Magdalene and her role as one of the first witnesses to the resurrection. This book certainly makes you think, even if at times you may not agree with the conclusions drawn.
