This Lent course explores the ordinary places of the Easter story in which the extraordinary events of Jesus life, death and resurrection occurred.

The five sessions and accompanying meditations lead you to examine the reality of these places which Jesus knew so well, and engage with the Gospel stories in a fresh, informed and imaginative way.

You will be encouraged to look at the ordinary places of your own life, and rediscover them as places in which you may meet the living God.

Above all, this course leads you on a shared journey through the Easter story towards a deeper understanding of Christs sacrifice and the joy which is ours on Easter Day.

I found this course had a refreshing emphasis on reading and preparation at home before joining in the group meeting. As well as the suggested reading, the author encourages all the participants to assemble relevant pictures and other objects to take to the meeting, so not leaving this solely to the group leader. Each session is clearly set out, giving suggested timings for each part and plenty of time for discussion and sharing things learned from the individual preparation done during the previous week. Claire Benton-Evans has clearly tried to bring something different to this Lent course, and I think she has succeeded wonderfully.
