Barbara Mosse has written this book to help us 'make space' for rest, reflection and renewal during the season of Lent. She has chosen short readings from across the Bible and then grouped them into five sections, covering the five weeks of Lent, with extra material as an introduction and then at the end a slightly different format for Holy Week. Each daily reading is followed by a short meditation and a question which helps the reader to apply the teaching to his or her life. I had to read the book more quickly than is intended but I feel it is well worth returning to and reading more reflectively. Not every chapter spoke to me, but most of them did, and I can recommend it as a helpful aid as you journey through Lent.
