    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Using his own translation of the New Testament as used in his ‘For Everyone’ series of commentaries, Tom Wright has taken passages from Luke – the Gospel used in the present year of the Common lectionary – and written meditations on these themes to lead us through the days of Lent, Sundays included. His hope is that as the use of the Common Lectionary brings the different denominations closer together, mixed groups will be able to use this book to draw them closer together, or individuals from many churches studying the same words can also help in this aim. As ever with Bp Wright’s writing I found his words easy to understand and a delight to study, and reading through, albeit quickly as a reviewer must, found much to slow me down and think about prayerfully. Re-reading more slowly during Lent will be a very fruitful exercise.
