1 star is too many. This was bought for me and I make a habbit of researching every book I read. This was, for all intensive purposes commissioned by the former archbishop Welby. A man who resigned before he was pushed over abuse and overall contraversal views. It includes shallow, rambling ‘stories’ that serve to go nowhere or to even educate the reader. More depth is given to each individual writer’s ‘achievemnents’. Boasting such high profile CV’s, one would think that the content would be educational, alas, I seems to serve as a springboard for these individual’s attempts to move into Christian writing. ‘Christian’ itself is used as general term for those that at least attend church, as opposed to those that have accepted Him as their personal savivor. It presents itself as another weak, non commital product of the Anglican Church machine. You will not be challenged, you will not understand His word any better and you will only be validating this lukewarm attempt to answer real questions.

This is a book of worthy, personal essays. I bought it as it was advertised a resource for Lent groups. I do not think that it fulfills this as it is not structured for either 40 days or 6 weeks, nor with much guidance about how to use it in a group setting.
