Every Friday in Jerusalem, Franciscan monks take groups of pilgrims down the Via Dolorosa, the road Christ may have walked on his way to the cross. Stopping at each of fourteen locations that mark events in the final days of Christ?s life, the pilgrims recall the Passion story and offer prayers for the world.

The Rev. Canon John Peterson is Secretary General of the Anglican Communion. Prior to moving to London, he was Dean of St. George's College, Jerusalem. He is a Canon in three cathedrals: The Cathedral of Christ the King, Kalamazoo, Michigan; St. George's Cathedral, Jerusalem; and Christ Cathedral, Canterbury. A U.S. citizen, Canon Peterson is an appointed missionary priest of the Episcopal Church of the United States.
