For several years, the students and staff of Ridley Hall, the Anglican theological college in Cambridge, have compiled a book of readings for the 48 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Day. A team of students in training for the ministry write the reflections around a particular theme, so each day brings a fresh voice and a new perspective, while contributions from the teaching staff at Ridley give added theological depth. This year's reflections are based the classic theme of discipleship - what are the costs, the challenges, the joys and the trials of following in Christ's footsteps all the way to the cross?

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Each day has a reading set out on its own page and facing, a reflection followed by a single sentence prayer. Not an arduous discipline for the few short weeks of Lent, but time spent on these passages will be rewarding and uplifting. The guidance on using the book, at the beginning, is well worth following, and the reflections ‘derive from the wide-ranging life experiences of Ridley’s students’. This years theme is the journey by Jesus to Jerusalem. As the students reflect on the passage for the day, they write movingly of the lessons they have learnt in their lives, and relate them to the given Bible reading.
