Joy has written a very moving book about sharing Jesus with Muslim women. It is not a 'how to' book in the conventional sense, because most of it is sharing her own experience of befriending and caring deeply for the Muslim women she has met in North America. She charts her journey over the last 30 years, in which she moved from an initial sense of fear and indifference - sparked off by her childhood experiences as a missionary kid in Somalia - to a place where she reaches out in compassion to these often-neglected women. Her aim in writing this book is to speak to Christian women who are afraid of Muslim women but who honestly desire to rise above that fear and learn how to love their Muslim neighbours or colleagues and feel more at home with them. I love the story-telling format, and I feel that Joy achieves the goal that she set. A challenging and compelling book.
