Most men are too embroiled in the battle to be able to take the objective look that Dr Jantz offers. The chapter on emotional withdrawal is particularly strong. The questions in this chapter are top class and rummage meaningfully with the purpose and pain of cave dwelling! The chapters though warmly written, and solid in their content, lack challenge and feel tame. It is good Christian ethos self-help but it stops short in its courage to speak to the systemic identity and woundedness of the male soul.
