On a shelf of books about singleness this stands out as it shows us how as single Christian women we can have the satisfaction we long for. It is no smug self-help book, presenting the ideal but unattainable perfect single life. Andrea’s honesty reassures us she really does understand our situation and she shows us that it’s only when we get our hearts right that we can truly be content. I’d encourage all single Christian women to read it – but it comes with a warning as it is challenging! It forces us to look at our hearts, to see how we can be deceived as we pursue the lie that a husband will make us content, and points us instead towards the one who will never disappoint and wants to be our bridegroom.

As soon as I started to read this book I felt as if Andrea was with me, talking and excuding her inimicable warmth, encouragement and friendliness all at the same time. The wonderful thing about Andrea is her capacity to provide support through her deep sense of joy, which undoubtedly stems from her deep sense of contentment and walk with Jesus as her Saviour and her Lord. Andrea writes with searing honesty about singleness, the struggles and the pain. By explaining how she responds from a gospel perspective, Andrea helps us to focus on our hearts. Do read this book as it will provide you with a very useful insight into one persons commitment to serve her Saviour in obedience and trust at whatever cost to herself.

I hate books on singleness...! but rather than making me feel guilty for struggling to be content in my singleness this book helped me to recognise, delight in and make the most of what I do have. Of who I have. A relationship that satisfies like no other. One with the living Lord Jesus.

I though the heart of singleness was absolutely fantastic. Any woman who is struggling to enjoy her singleness or see it as a gift will be thoroughly helped and encouraged by this book! Andrea is beautifully honest and open with her own struggles with her singleness but shows how through the Holy Spirit’s help and key scriptures she has learnt to be single and satisfied and really see her single state as a wonderful opportunity and blessing. She applies scriptures to the issue of singleness is refreshing, insightful ways. Her application of “the woman at the well” and “the prodigal son” are brilliant. What I loved most about the book was how it put singleness into eternal perspective through the light of the gospel. I recommend this book to all single women and am making it my book of the month (March 2014) on my blog [www.rubyintherough.co.uk](https://www.rubyintherough.co.uk)
