Over the past 20 years, Kenneth Steven has grown to become one of the country's most popular poets. His beautiful verse is evocative and inspiring, engaging and rewarding. Often inspired by nature and the west coast of Scotland, there is also a deeply spiritual element to his work drawn from a quiet Celtic Christianity. In this book, Kenneth has carefully selected 100 of his best and best-loved poems, including new, previously unpublished work. A wonderful introduction to a great present-day poet, this handsome volume is also an essential addition to the library of any fan of his work.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Beautiful and evocative as ever. The reviewer’s suggested uses: (a) Put this into the hands of someone who you know to be in need of a Retreat and who says that they do not have time to go away. Suggest they find a quiet spot in the house, garden, car, office or wherever they spend most of their time, for just long enough to read one poem per day and spend 5 minutes meditating on it. This would be the mini-est of mini retreats, but at least the person would spend a few minutes each day in good company: their own, Kenneth Steven’s and God’s. (b) Buy 2 copies and use one as in (a) above; take the other copy with you on Retreat as you are obviously wise enough to know the value of time apart! Recently sitting at a large window overlooking the North Bay at Scarborough, watching the tide going out and dipping into Island as the light faded, was a wonderful experience, although I was away only overnight. Time very well spent.
