When it comes to being a follower of Jesus Christ, prayer is very essential (if not mandatory) for one's spiritual growth. The Word of God speaks to every area of a person's life, which means that God cares about everything we will ever face. You will never enter into a situation that you cannot pray about. As an athlete that aspires to use their platform to glorify God and advance His Kingdom, it's important that we are led by the Holy Spirit while navigating through our careers. God desires to be involved, and at the head, of everything in our life. That truth should reassure us knowing that God cares about our athletic journeys and He desires to give us wisdom along the way. James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." The "let him ask of God" part of the verse is referring to prayer. Since God desires to be at the center of our athletic careers, there are circumstances that will occur in our journey that He wants us to bring to Him prayer.
