Fr Henri Nouwen (died 1996), is probably better known than St Eugene (died 1861), who founded the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, an influential missionary order. Each 'day' has a 'Focus Point', accompanied by an extract from the subject's writings. This is elaborated on by the respective author, and ends with practical and well thought out 'Reflection Questions'. We walk alongside Nouwen and de Mazenod, using their lives and experiences to come closer to the Lord. The material is not too long, and fulfils the publisher's aim. 'How to Use This Book' is a practical and sensible section common to both, only compromised by the subject's name being inserted as appropriate! A good idea excellently carried out.
