    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Andrew Clitherow is an Honorary Canon of Blackburn Cathedral and a Chaplain to the Queen. He writes: ‘It is by love that we become at one with ourselves and others and with God. At a time when many struggle to discover this love in the Church, when the foundations of society have been found to be more fragile than we ever imagined and when the future of the planet is under threat along with the well-being of billions of human beings, we have the opportunity and the responsibility to rediscover that language of love that unites earth with heaven’. This is a thoughtful book which looks at prayer under simple, bite sized headings - prayer and myself, prayer and passion, prayer and wealth. Sometimes a little wordy, it nonetheless makes a good and stimulating resource for reflecting on our own prayer life. It ends with a simple and accessible way – one of the best I’ve come across – of entering simply and humbly into the presence of Jesus.
