    'Jesus, Lord and Christ, Son and Word of the Living God, have mercy (on me a sinner / us sinners)' is a prayer recognised by all Christians, but not everyone is happy simply repeating it. With the aid of a set of Rosary Beads - again, not a devotion appreciated by all - Father Cleary builds up a series of meditations on events in the life of Jesus. They cover His birth and early life, His ministry, His Passion and our experience of the Risen Lord. They may be easily adapted for group or private use, for longer or shorter times of prayer. With this initial guide, one could construct one's own meditations on other events. Appendices include how the 'Jesus Clause' may be included within the 'Hail Marys' of the traditional Rosary, some further 'Concluding Prayers', and single Meditations on Jesus' Heart and Name, and 'In Honour of St Benedict' (!). There are useful 'Notes', which reflect the author's wide use of Christian resources. In hardback, suitable for a large pocket, it is well laid out, with some clip art illustrations. An excellent addition to 'Prayer Books'.
