"Just like David, we're the chosen. We're the anointed." The Biblical record of the life of David is filled with wonderful models for Christian living. Choices of the Chosen unearths these lessons, examining David's choices—the good, bad, and ugly—and applying them to the daily journey of today's follower of Christ.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This volume offers some constructive lessons for Christian living. Their model is the life of King David, based on some Psalms and passages from 1 and 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles. If our hearts are to be open to God, as David’s was (imperfect as some of his choices may have been), that means focusing on God in trust, humility and obedience. Readers who wish to receive more of God’s anointing on their lives will find much to help them in this book. Chapters I found particularly helpful include those on waiting on God (‘not waiting on the Lord is far worse than waiting’), on handling anger and on the importance of friendship and belonging to a small fellowship group. I just have these two reservations: opinions will differ on whether all the Psalms being quoted are actually by David; and the book contains a number of unnecessary errors, both of spelling and of grammar.
