    This book’s aim is to help you deal with the hurts and sins of your past in a Biblical way. Striking a middle way between those who believe that ‘the past is nothing’ and those who believe that ‘the past is everything’ Pastor Viars provides sound Biblical based counselling written in a gentle pastoral way. Pastor Viars divides our past hurts and sins into categories which he calls buckets. These cover good and bad responses to events when we were the innocent or the guilty party. He then examines each in turn in the light of scripture. The book is liberally illustrated with accounts from those he has counselled (used with permission) and more importantly he gives many examples from the scriptures to confirm what he is saying. Although I found his categorisation a little artificial and felt that he was occasionally encouraging us to dig up the past unnecessarily, overall this book is extremely helpful. There is a great deal of excellent Bible based teaching. Those who are struggling with past sins and hurts will find great comfort and help here.
