No, this book isn't about primate sexuality, it's actually about holiness. Cris Rogers writes with a brisk and easy-to-read style about orientating ourselves to God's blessing rather than trying to perform, like a monkey-grinder, as a believer. He doesn't approach matters of behaviour particularly specifically; instead he offers a framework of reference as to how to pattern your life. There are some helpful vignettes into the Jewish context in which the Bible was written, including some Old Testament passages, and some questions at the end of each chapter. Although I enjoyed reading the book it wasn't in-depth enough for me and I was also at times a little unsure of the author's exegesis. His statements and beliefs sit well within evangelical orthodoxy and the fact that this is a British-authored book with examples to which we can relate also helped. The writing style of this book probably renders it less suitable for older readers but for younger Christians who perhaps feel rather overwhelmed by all the rules and regulations that seem to be thrust at them by believers, this book might well help.

This was a fantastic fresh book looking at holiness. I have not read a book so real and true in a long time. The book is funny, deep and really challenging. The author has obviously done his homework and knows his stuff and Jewish culture and the world of Jesus. This is a must read book for anyone who wants to have a deeper understanding of how God sees you and how this should affect the way you live. Brilliant!!!
