Want to know more of God's Spirit?

Peter Lawrence shares real stories of ministry and intervention

You'll discover real lives changed by God

A faithful servant of God reveals how to experience a dynamic ministry by listening to God's Spirit and praying for God's intervention in people's lives.

Peter Lawrence was a vicar in the Church of England for many years until his death in 2009. As he began to write this book about living fully in the Spirit's healing power, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Accepting God's will with grace, he has left behind this moving account of the spiritual reality that radiated from him and touched many lives.

Blending biblical teaching and self-effacing humor, Peter describes how he discovered the gift of receiving a "word" from God--and the amazing healings of spirit, mind, and body that resulted. Now readers can learn how God's Spirit can guide them personally, day by day, no matter what.

Like other Peter Lawrence's books this is a helpful stop along the way being clear, very honest and Biblical. The practical application of scripture in the life of a humble man who walked with the Holy Spirit and witnessed the power of God in everryday church life. This is Peter's last book before he was called home and reflects his dependance on hearing from God and learning to obey. I would have no hesitiation in recommending it to anyone wishing to walk as Jesus walked.

The Spirit Who Speaks is an interesting, clear and considered book on the Holy Spirit and his active presence and ministry in our lives and spirit filled churches and ministries. It is written in an engaging and honest way and is in part a testimony as well as an explanation and teaching on the Holy Spirit and his work in spirit filled believers and churches. Though written by a person active in such a ministry it is still a book that poses real questions and demands that at every point we question the action and ministry to ensure that what we think is the Holy Spirit at work really is, and that more than anything is what makes this book so good and should make it essential reading for anyone interested in such things but certainly for those engaged in such ministry, Check and counter check is the reminder that Peter H. Lawrence puts forward. In some ways though, this book becomes most compelling when you get to the point of truly realising that this was written by a man who was not healed by the Holy Spirit and there is where it is most important – the section that addresses the mistaken beliefs and theologies of some healing ministries. This book is essential because it tries so hard and does so well at flagging up the troubling and dangerous beliefs that can and do flourish and gently moving the reader on into right thinking.
