      Product Description

There is a movement among Christians today to get as close to the source of the Christian faith as possible. The idea being that at the source one will find the perfect untainted Christianity that God intended. Does such a faith exist and can it be found? This book does not add to noise by using scriptures in an attempt to prove the author's presuppositions over others. It seems to escape most that both sides of arguments about early church doctrine are already doing this to no meaningful end. This volume of "Just Tell Me the Truth." delves into the primary sources of antiquity such as "Liber Pontificalis," "The writings of Eusebius," The "Writings of the Church Ecumenical Councils," "Papal Encyclicals," secular "Roman History" "the Didache," the "First Apology of Justin Martyr," and the"Volumes of the Ante Nicaean Fathers." This book pinpoints the formation of the earliest Christian church and the practices associated with her formation and development. This volume takes a journey through the desire of some to establish a Universal Church, a veil under which all Christian sects would come to unify their beliefs and end terrible persecutions destroying their communities. As Ecumenical Councils comprised of bishops from all over Christian lands occurred at Nicaea, Constantinople, Ephesus, and Chalcedon certain beliefs were shaped that impact how the faith is practiced even today. Unfortunately they also led to destruction in modern times. Disagreements taking place among many different modern churches over what those doctrines meant. Some churches are ruined and some people's lives are ruined by disagreements over "Oneness" and "Trinitarian" Christology - ideas totally foreign in some ways to their creators who would never have imagined the way their work is viewed today. None of that needs to happen nor should it. Any Christian that desires to be informed, a curious atheist, or a non-believer alike will find the truth about how Christ's divinity was settled - not whether or not he was Son, but HOW he was Son, how the Holy Spirit of God was defined with personhood, and how the conclusions of council's were ultimately the best conclusion that the thinkers of the early centuries could develop. The Truth First Christianity Series aims to abandon denomination and doctrine to get to the core truths of Christianity free of presupposition and allegiance to dogma. This book is while listed as Volume 3 could be read first to most effect.
