    Mr. Hislop wrote this book to show that the Roman Catholic Church was 'pagan' and was not the church which Christ and the deciples/apostles had started. That the pagans of Rome had taken the Church over, and that Protestantism was the one true way to God. And he did a pretty good job by the standards of his time (written during the Victroian era). If you are a Roman Catholic, Ecumenist minded, or dislike the truth being pointed out to you, then best not buy this. BUT if you DO want the truth, then for less than a sit down curry you'll feel the scales from your eyes as you learn.
