For every Sunday in the three-year Sunday Lectionary cycle, this book offers little reflections and stimuli to prayer for either one, two or three of the readings set. These can be used by people preparing sermons or intercessions, by individuals preparing for communion or added to the notice sheet each week.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

What a very useful resource for those who plan the weekly services in our churches, but also a useful reference manual for those who wish to prepare themselves before attending the regular service. A page a day for all the three year lectionary for “normal” Sundays and the major festival and events of the Christian calendar. They can be used as a pew sheet introduction to the readings or as a proclamation before the readings at the service, or as a prompt for the address or sermon. Especially useful to the preacher are the questions and statements at the end of the passages which gives us a prompt for the intercessory prayer as well as a summary of the readings themselves. As the authors state, the readings on a Sunday can be delivered and go past in a few minutes and important though they are, sometimes forgotten. These brief words related every week may allow the entire congregation to reflect more readily and remember.
