"Few issues in the Church today are more contentious than worship. Its importance, in the minds of many, far outweighs theological, doctrinal or denominational differences. For some, the very idea of straying from tried and trusted patterns is tantamount to heresy. For others, those patterns have become associated with lifeless formality and, in consequence, have been abandoned.

"Personally, I believe we must make room for both viewpoints, respecting and building on tradition but at the same time being open to new ideas. One such idea I experimented with during my ministry was using meditations, music and slides to bring out the meaning of Scripture.
