Almost all ancient cultures believed, and still believe, that sound is the creative, generative force which brought the Universe into being. In the New Testament John 1:1 states "In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." In the book of Genesis, the Bible refers to the God-force or creative force of the Universe (Elohim) who spoke, uttered a sound – the result was the world created in 7 days! This book is birthed out of a couple of messages Pastor Penny Francis preached at Ruach City Church. “My Affliction has a Sound” is all about the powerful connection of sound to our seasons of difficulty and how Jehovah God responds to the sounds of His people.
