    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This is a book that would work brilliantly as a gift for someone entering ministry or an older person being confirmed into the Anglican church, due to the lovely bright cover with fold over flaps that adds a feeling of longevity to it. Inside the book you find a wonderful collection of timeless prayers—or key texts, as they call them in the book—a basic, simple but well thought out twoweek daily prayer section—for which the fold over flaps really come into their own—and then a thematic section of collected prayers, quotes, sayings and thoughts from a whole range of people. These span the ages and tastes of the Anglican communion worked around key subjects such as bereavement, work, repentence, and healing amongst others, and then with a few added for the world in which we currently reside. These include, themes like sharing creation, and encountering other faiths. The final section, called sharing the company is about the more corporate or shared aspects of being church, so eucharist, teaching, fellowship and prayer—this section is a very short synopsis and overview really of what these things are or may incorporate, hence making this a good tool for those new to the faith as well as those already living the faith. I found this to be a lovely book, quite simple but profound in it's simplicity, and a wonderful Anglican companion indeed.
