In the Celtic way of prayer the divine glory was intertwined with the ordinariness of everyday events like the patterns on carvings and illuminated gospels. The modern prayers in this book beautifully recapture that tradition. They were composed in a small parish in the north of England to help individuals and groups rediscover the use of life's simple rhythms in their worship of the Eternal Presence. Here are prayers for individual devotions and for corporate worship, as well as for quiet days and retreats.

The prayers in The Edge of Glory are thoughtful, comprehensive and wide-ranging. I have found it very helpful in initiating a prayerful start or end to the day.

Originally published in 1985, this is truly a classic. David Adams honed his gift of writing prayers in the Celtic tradition while he was vicar of Holy Island off the coast of Northumberland. This area is steeped in Celtic history and traditions and knowledge gained from these shines though his work. If you are familiar with David Adam’s work you will be pleased to see that this is back in print, if you have not read his Celtic prayers before, you are in for a treat.
