Each chapter of Barbara Brown Taylor's excellent book is a meditation on a short passage of Scripture, taken from both the Old and New Testaments. Her writing is beautifully crafted and she manages to draw out thought-provoking ideas which challenge one's thinking as well as feeding the soul. She takes us right into the stories and her vivid portrayal of events sometimes had me laughing and sometimes crying. This book is an excellent aid to Bible meditation and a wake-up call to apply the Biblical stories to our everyday lives.
