Father Ronald D. Witherup is former superior general of the Sulpicians (2008–2022) and a recent past president of the Catholic Biblical Association of America. In addition to degrees in spirituality and theology, he holds a doctorate in biblical studies from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and is the author or editor of more than twenty-five books. He currently is an adjunct professor of sacred scripture at St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore and the director of personnel for the U.S. Province of Sulpicians.
