The Intercession of Christ is one of these works. In it Bunyan traces the nature of Jesus' intercession, who it should affect, the benefits it gives us and how effective that intercession is. Bunyan is also keen to show the inferences of the doctrine on such subjects as backsliding for example, how Christ's intervention is affected when we continue to sin and are the sins of God's people worse than the sins of others? As relevant today as when first penned and will be of great pastoral assistance to the believer.

    When you hear the name of John Bunyan, predictably Pilgrims Progress comes to mind. However John Bunyan has also written more serious books of which this is one. The book was written in the 1640 s and the language appears dated, but the message is vital, challenging and relevant for today. Do we realise the full cost that Christ paid in order to intercede for us to God and that he is doing this continually. Also do we fully grasp what his intercession has saved us from, and what it has given us, the privilege to come into Gods presence without fear. Christ by his intercession has saved us from hell and will bring us into the father s presence with no fear of being judged and condemned for our sin. This book studies this intercession in greater detail. Although I found the book hard going at times I would fully recommend it and encourage you to go out, buy and read it. A Classic.
