When we look at a family album we begin to get an idea of the events which have occurred in the life of that particular family. John's Gospel gives a snapshot of Jesus' life and the lives he changed. John tells the story of Jesus the saviour of the world who came in flesh to forgive sins. Simon Vibert invites us to come and see the lives Jesus changed. All the characters that we meet are not the one that the people had been waiting for; Jesus was that one. All these characters were "signposts" that pointed to Jesus so that we might respond to Him. Ideal for individual or small group studies.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This is an excellent book for the new Christian and the sincere seeker alike, not a line-by-line exposition, more an exploration of John’s gospel based around the people who met Jesus and how their encounters with Him affected them. We consider John the Baptist, a compass pointing unwaveringly to the Lord; the fallible, slow-on-the-uptake disciples who came, saw and eventually understood; Nicodemus, willing to question his entrenched religious positions; the man born blind whose new sight intensified the wilful blindness of others; Martha and her journey from resentful works to belief and reliance; as well as many more, including the writer-apostle himself, striving to present a clear picture of Jesus, who He was and is and how we should respond to Him. Well-written and engaging, this is a page-turner with points to ponder at the end of each chapter, and the message of the gospel clearly laid out for readers who have not yet come to the point of commitment. Thoroughly recommended.
