On the whole, we thought this would offend many recipients

Being offended by this question declares the pride of the reader, it says. Simple effective gospel message. Emphasises the reason for Christ's death. This is a positive message that says to be saved is like having your parachute on, regardless of the circumstances we can be assured we are safe. No mention of hell, yet the analogy is there in the image of the man 'hurtling towards disaster'. Something to bear in mind is that the image attracts children.
