    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This textbook for learners of English as a second or foreign language (ESL/EFL) is designed for students, teachers, pastors and lay persons with a view to developing confidence in reading theological publications written in English. Presupposing a high-intermediate to advanced level of English, this book seeks to help with the acquisition of academic theological vocabulary together with a working knowledge of key theological doctrines. There is also some focus on strategies for reading complex academic articles and skills for understanding difficult points of grammar. Chapters are generally very well set out with good-sized portions of theological texts for reading practice. Of great interest are the appendices and, in particular, the ones which list details of useful biblical and theological resources as well as those tools more relevant to ESL/EFL learners. A Teacher’s Guide is also available and this would tend to suggest that this textbook is best used in the classroom situation. However, for a dedicated student, it would be possible to benefit from this resource even if working alone.
