I have written this first volume, thinking of my heritage as both Reformed and Catholic; gladly appropriating crucial insights of the whole people of God over the last two thousand years Eastern Orthodox, Western Catholic and Reformation Protestant as they sought to live out the foundational truths of the inspired Word of God. The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

Kelly’s book has three titles and from the second title you would expect his ‘Reformed’ background to predominate. (He is Professor of Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte, N. Carolina.) The third title is indicative of a his rather broader interests and sympathies – ‘The God Who Is: The Holy Trinity.’ Kelly marshals numerous texts from the Fathers, and deals in detail with Orthodox understandings and controversies to elucidate his understanding of the Trinity. This volume runs to 620 pages and so we may expect a second volume of equal size and gravitas.
