From the author of 'Plight of Man And the Power of God' and 'Not Against Flesh And Blood' comes Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones continuing analysis of the key question: 'What is wrong with the human race?' Dr Lloyd was always deeply concerned with the suffering of man in today's world and with those who shape social policy and often provide the wrong and deeply flawed answers.

Dr Lloyd-Jones takes us beyond human prejudices and provides us with an apologetic for the gospel. The doctor exposes these flaws in modern thinking, especially in the "scientific approach." He provides us with a penetrating diagnosis of the human condition and shows decisively that the true remedy for our ills is in Jesus Christ - and Him alone. Truly everything we need for salvation is found in Christ alone.

About the author: Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981) was born in Wales. He was a dairyman's assistant, a political enthusiast, debater, and chief clinical assistant to Sir Thomas Harder, the King's Physician. But at the age of 27 he gave up a most promising medical career to become a preacher. He had a far-reaching influence through his ministry at Westminster Chapel in London, England from 1938-68. His published works have had an unprecedented circulation, selling in millions of copies.

Reviews

"The world today is vastly different from the one in which our author lived. Yet despite all the advances of science and technology it would be hard to argue that it is a better place. While men and women look for answers that might be anticipated in the future, the Bible tells us that the answer is found in something accomplished in the past. Christ died for sins once for all the righteous for the unrighteous to bring you to God. It is this unchanging truth that we are to believe and proclaim in these changing times. - Alistair Begg ~ Senior Pastor, Parkside Church, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

This slim book is based on a series of lectures that Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones gave at Wheaton College in 1947. The subject is man, focusing on what is man, what is wrong with man, modern man's thinking and man's need of the gospel. This book is unusual for Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones in that it is apologetic in character. Although he uses the scriptures, much of his argument is from logic and common sense. He shows that while man looks for solutions to mankind's problems in the future, the true answer is found in the past - at the cross of Christ. This is the unchanging truth that he declares and at the end of every chapter he preaches. Although written over 60 years ago, the analysis of how modern man thinks is up to date and very relevant for today. This is well worth reading.
