Spurgeon wrote, 'Standing at the foot of the Cross, we see head, hands, feet, and side, all pouring forth crimson streams of precious blood. It is precious because of its redeeming and atoning power. By it the sins of Christ's people are atoned for, they are redeemed from under the Law, reconciled to God, and made one with Him.'

He goes on to point out that the blood of Jesus is precious in its purifying power, its preserving power, its sanctifying influence and its overcoming power.

He said, 'Those who fight with the precious blood of Jesus Christ fight with a weapon that cannot know defeat. By trusting the power of Jesus? blood, we will always conquer!'

Spurgeon preached often about the precious blood of Jesus Christ as the only way for a sinner to be saved. He proclaimed that the blood of Jesus was the life of all vital godliness. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin, past, present, and future, and it enables us to draw near to God each day.
