John Wycliffe DVD tells how and why the pioneer Bible translator risked his life translating the Bible for the first time into English.

Although given protection - by John of Gaunt and the Queen Mother - from the Church who proclaimed his work illegal, he was ousted from his teaching post at Oxford and barred from the university libraries. Exiled to his parish of Lutterworth, he saw the work completed before his death in 1384.

This award-winning film gives valuable insight into the 14th century church, and begins the extraordinary story of how the Bible came to England in the language of the people.

When we were distributing the "Real Easter eggs" we found that 4 out of the 30 were not wrapped properly. 3 had parts of the foil damaged so that the chocolate was showing and the fourth was only half wrapped with the foil scrunched and missing. We were glad that we didn't need to give out all 30 eggs, as those 4 were not fit for children to eat given the current concerns about Covid hygiene.
