This dramatic Biblical movie brings new scope to the story of Paul

Ideal for small groups as well as larger Church screenings

Discover the story of the Apostle Paul, the man who helped shape Christianity, like never before in this big-budget film of persecution and perseverance.

From the studio that brought you Risen and War Room comes a film of two men’s faith that defied an empire.

Held against his will in a dismal prison cell at the whim of Emperor Nero, the apostle Paul (James Faulkner) finds his days are numbered. Awaiting his execution before the citizens of Rome, Paul receives a visitor who brings an idea that changed the world. To write down Paul’s story for Christians of the time.

That man is Luke (Jim Caviezel). Both friend and physician, Luke is determined to write Paul’s story as he did Jesus’. But in doing so, he needs to risk everything by remaining in the heart of the Roman empire, a vipers-nest of watchful eyes lead by a desperate Nero. Not only does Luke’s very presence in Rome endanger his own freedom, but the sharp eye of prison prefect Mauritius (Olivier Martinez) threatens to tear the whole plan apart. In writing this book, Luke must be willing to risk everything. Paul’s story will challenge an empire, and needs telling before it’s too late.

Chained and left in a dark cell, Paul relives the events to led him to capture. From the persecution he led, to the persecution he would receive after meeting Christ, Paul’s life became one of struggle and survival. From stonings to starvation to shipwrecks, Paul’s faith defied a world seeking to bury Christianity by any means possible. And before Luke came, Paul feared he too would be buried before his message could change a single life.

But now there is hope; a chance to share the Gospel with a world beyond the prison’s bars.

A story of courage and faith that defied an empire, Paul Apostle of Christ is a dramatic account of the life of Paul and the early church. It brings to life the dangers early Christians faced, and the effect of their courage that can be felt to this day.

Paul (Faulkner), who goes from the most infamous persecutor of Christians to Christ's most influential apostle, is spending his last days in a dark and bleak prison cell awaiting execution by Emperor Nero.

Luke (Caviezel), his friend and physician, risks his life when he ventures into Rome to visit him. Paul is under the watchful eye of Mauritius (Martinez), the prisons prefect, who seeks to understand how this broken old man can pose such a threat.

But before Paul's death sentence can be enacted, Luke resolves to write another book, one that details the beginnings of "The Way" and the birth of what will come to be known as the church. Their faith challenged an empire. But their words changed the world.

A highly relevant and poignant movie that highlights the deep agape and phileo love (unconditional and brotherly love) between persecuted Christians, who were part of the early Church, as well as their love for Father God and their faith in Jesus Christ.

This film is thoroughly absorbing. 'Enjoyed' is the wrong word, though I could not leave it and at times it made me cry. If you buy it you I am sure you won't regret it .

Very disappointed with this film.. No witness of the "Joy of the Lord being their strength" in difficult circumstances, or the supernatural Healing power of God. Paul seemed a broken man, with no brightness. The flashbacks were a little confusing, and did not make sense unless you knew the story. Certainly not an evangelistic film
