    I was particularly interested in this DVD as James Hudson Taylor is from Barnsley where I lived until my marriage. There is a Hudson Taylor trail around Barnsley and each year many visitors come from China in recognition of Hudson Taylor founding the China Inland Mission.

    The recent book with similar appearance was great. This DVD was disappointing. It does contain information about the growth of CIM but the drama part was uninspiring. The start with some elderly local enthusiasts was slow, and the 'drama' was mostly a bearded Hudson reminiscing and some general shots of CHina. We had hoped to show it to the Chinese visiting scholars and students with whom we have weekly housegroups but do not think it could maintain interest. The older film of Hudson Taylor's life by Ken Anderson is better, but it lacks English subtitles which makes it less useful for our particular use.
