This webinar will offer not only diagnosis, but also a reasonable hope for the future, proposing a model of Spirit-led discernment grounded in perspective-taking, behavioural science, social brain research, and postmetaphysical philosophy — aiming to move beyond factionalism toward renewed common life.

Join us for USPG’s annual conference as we gather to reflect, learn, worship, and connect with friends and partners from across the global Anglican Communion. Set in the peaceful surroundings of High Leigh Conference Centre, this three-day event offers space to engage deeply with Scripture, hear from inspiring speakers, and explore how the Church is called to respond to a world marked by division and conflict. Theme Rooted in Ephesians 2:14 “For he is our peace…”, this year’s conference will explore the Church’s role as an agent of peace in a time of global uncertainty. As geopolitical tensions, regional conflicts, and deepening social divides shape our world, we will reflect together on what it means to follow Christ faithfully today. Through the lens of Just Peace, we will examine how Christian discipleship calls us not only to reconciliation but also to challenge and transform unjust systems that create division, deprivation, damage, and destruction. Together, we will consider how our faith and hope in the risen Christ can reshape our understanding of peace—not as the absence of conflict, but as healing and reconciling presence in the midst of it. The 3-day residential conference will feature a host of guest speakers from across the Anglican Communion, Bible studies and participatory workshops. We are seeking a passionate and committed Youth & Young Adults Worker to lead and oversee all activities for young people aged 11-25. This is a new role, offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to shape the spiritual growth and pastoral care of young people, within the church and those in the wider community, who may have little or no connection with church. We are looking for someone with a passion for young children knowing the Lord, and some experience of teaching the Bible with a focus on Jesus, to lead the growing children’s ministry in the church. The role is suitable for someone who loves the Lord Jesus and is passionate about teaching children about Him from the whole Bible. There is also the option for this role to equip the post-holder for further gospel ministry in the future through formal training, either the Cornhill Training Course in London or TEAM in Cambridge. We are seeking a gifted, innovative, energetic and passionate Youth & Children’s Ministry Worker to lead and develop our young people and will play a key role in discipling young people, supporting their spiritual growth, and engaging with their families as part of the wider church community. We have a number of gifted volunteers who work with the children and young people and we are now at a stage where we believe it is the time to invest more in our young people by being available for them at a key time in their lives. Job Summary The successful applicant will oversee all of the work undertaken with children and young people. They will also be a member of the Church Leadership Team. The post holder will focus on adding value to, and expanding on, what is already being carried out by Church members. Duties and Responsibilities • To personally model the Christian life in such a way that it draws others to do the same. • To co-ordinate a programme for young people geared to encourage a lifelong commitment to and relationship with Jesus Christ. • To exercise active pastoral concern to all who fall within this area of responsibility. • To represent the needs and views of the children and youth to the wider Church or enable where appropriate, the young people to do this themselves. • To encourage and support the existing and potential leaders so that they too can help young people to come to and then grown in faith. • Enable young people to play a significant part in helping the Church to fulfil its desire to be at the heart of the community. • To facilitate the training of volunteers to engage in sustained outreach to young people within the community. • To work in partnership with the Church leadership to produce a strategic plan for the on-going children and youth ministries of the Church. • To fulfil any other reasonable responsibilities deemed appropriate by the Church Leadership Team.
