Have you ever tried to explain the rules of football to someone from another culture? Or to a girlfriend who doesn't understand sport? Now imagine trying to explain if both teams were wearing the same colours - or every one wore different ones. Or if they all wore blindfolds - how can you explain that? To complicate it further add twenty women to the picture, playing a different game with totally different rules. Or is it the same game with different goals? You don't know. Of course the women will pair up with the men and then run off the field to play a different game entirely. But how does that fit into the overall picture? This book is a small attempt at explaining some of the basic rules of open, effective, and fulfilling romantic relationships. We're all in there running for the goal. We might play better if we had more of an idea how the game works.

    The Good Book Stall

    Average rating of0.0

I’m a sucker for books with titles like this one, so it had to be me to review this! I am so glad I did. I only had to read the introduction to know I was going to read, mark and learn from this book. Dr Irene Alexander is a Lecturer in Counselling and Psychology and readily admits she does not have all the answers, and she has a broken marriage to prove it; but she is still willing to learn and to help others to work towards good relationships. I found this book very easy to read, and only too easy to understand when the author told a story of particular two peoples conflicts and how they had arisen, usually through misunderstanding of the others position, or needs. I know I do not get all relationships right, and can think of others who would benefit from reading this excellent book. Christians are in need of this guidance just as much as others. There would be far less conflict and distress in our lives if only we would heed Dr Irene’s teaching. An excellent book which needs reading by as many people as possible.
