This book doesn't grow old! The simple clear language, the beguiling pictures, it bears serious levels of retelling. My son loved it as a toddler and preschooler, we would read one story at bedtime each evening and start back at the beginning again, reading them on a loop for over a year(!) 20 years on these stories still engage children and it's the book I give to little ones from my church as a baptism gift.

Really pleased with the book ‘Stories Jesus told’ by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen, but disappointed with the colouring book which was more like a leaflet so couldn’t give it as an intended present.

As usual, well told stories faithful to the Bible text and memorable illustrations. Perfect for youngsters and clever enough to hold the attention of older folk who don't know the stories.

I really like books by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. The illustrations are great and the simple but humourous text makes them brilliant stories to read to children. They are faithful to Jesus original stories whilst bringing them to life in a way that makes the stories and their message readily accessible to children.

Wonderful little book that relates parables in an enjoyable way while remaining faithful to the meaning. Biblical quotations are included at the end of each story. The book is beautifully illustrated and is appreciated by my 2 year old granddaughter as well as my Sunday class of 3-4 year olds.

I have purchased theses stories separately in the past so was delighted to find them in a collected version. This made a good baptism present.
