A long awaited and deserved new edition of this enduring and moving classic.

As the Nazi madness swept across Europe, a quiet watchmaker's family in Holland risked everything for the sake of others, and for the love of Christ. Despite the danger and threat of discovery, the ten Boom family courageously offered shelter to persecuted Jews during the Nazi occupation of Holland. Then a trap brought about the family's arrest. Could God's love shine through, even in Ravensbruck?

An inspiring story and a timeless classic, Corrie ten Boom recounts how her family hid Jewish families from the Nazis during the second World War before they were trapped and arrested by the authorities. Could God be in this situation?

This new edition highlights the value of this book in showing how the love of God shines into even the darkest places.

This riveting and inspiring book has got me reading the Bible far more regularly. I was already used to miracles in my own life, but reading about the vast number of really spectacular ones experienced by Corrie ten Boom is a life-transforming event. Her ability to tap into God's forgiveness for even the worst criminals and persecutors is mind-blowing.

Although I was born into this war, and lost my Father, I had no idea that such cruelty and so many atrocities occurred, this book is a must to inform people that Corrie is a light in the darkness. Well presented, informative and true.

I have read this book a long time ago as part of a volume of three and it is amazing what God can do through one person and her family by His Grace and leading.

Re visiting this story after 30years or so as I wanted to encourage the younger ones in my household to appreciate the life they have now. A beautiful picture of Gods grace in the most testing of circumstances easy to read but difficult to digest so not one for bedtime. It makes you ask yourself how long we have left until we are as vulnerable as the continent was then because we are turning away from Jesus as a nation and evidence of lawlessness is already upon us. I am looking forward to meeting Corrie and her family when Jesus calls us home.

This much loved book has now been added to the Contemporary Hodder Classics series, and it is a well deserved addition because this book is still a best seller nearly 45 years after it was first written. For those that haven't read it (and re-read it!) this is the true story of how after helping hundreds of Jews to escape from the Nazis, the family were betrayed, and Corrie, her sister and father were arrested. Soon after, her father died. When Corrie and her sister Betsie were moved to Ravensbruck concentration camp they saw this as an opportunity to tell their fellow inmates about God, and show by the way they behaved the way of Christ. Page after page is filled with a mixture of horror and hope. Betsie dies in the camp and Corrie is miraculously freed to return to her home in Haarlem and then to realise the visions described in great detail by Betsie before she died. Certainly a book well worth reading if you haven't already read it.

I found this book so humbling, so inspiring. It has built my faith and given me such Joy. If the Ten Boon family can have such joy, amidst such hardship, then there is Hope for all of us! Jesus will come for us one day - 'exciting' is too weak a word to decribe what that means in this hard world we live in now. This book will change your heart.

This book moved me significantly forward in my christian journey. It tells of Corrie's experiences through the 2nd World War and her suffering in a concentration camp. But most of all it shows how God's love can shine through in even the most difficult circumstances, and how He was acting and helping her through each and every day. I have recommended this book to loads of my friends and they have all loved it too. Good for people on the fringes of Christianity too, as well as long timers.
