Simple, fun and colourful The Lion Storyteller Bible portrays Christ and his teachings in a fast moving, engaging style that appeals to children aged 4 to 8.

The illustrations will fire children's imaginations immediately with the message that God intends for us all. Storyteller Bob Hartman uses simple language that's excellent for reading aloud to children without ever talking down to his audience. That makes it deal for anyone involved in teaching God's messages to school age children,

Brightly illustrated in colour and spread across two pages, the stories and pictures are easy to share. The Lion Storyteller Bible is sure to be a favourite for many years with Sunday school teachers and families alike.

This lovely book is well written with the stories from the Bible told in a form and length that make great spring-boards for talking with children about the themes and message of the Bible in an age appropriate language.

This further re-issue The Lion Storyteller Bible's highly acclaimed 2008 version integrates more than 20 new Bible story re-tellings with the 50 tried and tested stories of the 2005 original.

It also includes a useful appendix of Bob Hartman's hints and tips for storytelling.

The Lion Storyteller Bible broke new ground in its presentation - both verbal and visual - of Bible stories. It has been immensely popular, with sales in the UK exceeding 130,000 copies and editions printed in more than 11 languages. Since The Lion Storyteller Bible was first published Bob Hartman has established an international reputation as a storyteller and writer.

A friend asked if I could recommend a book that she could read to her granddaughter with a good range of Bible stories that a five year old would understand. I purchased the book without knowing too much about it, but I was very pleased at the content and had no hesitation in giving it to my friend. As yet I have not received any responses from either the lady or her granddaughter

Although The Lion Storyteller Bible has been around for a number of years, it hasn’t become dated in look, style or presentation, and makes an excellent baptism gift. Apparently the book no longer comes with CDs, but I don’t feel that is really a problem.

I joined a small team to bring "Open the Book" sessions to the nearby Primary School, and this is the book used for this program. One person reads the story while the rest of the team act out the parts - sometimes with costumes, and we have even borrowed puppets from a local church. The stories are simple and easily remembered, and the children who join in to take part are given stickers afterwards. We run one session at 9am for the Juniors and another at 10am for the infants. The children join in enthusiastically and thank us when we are leaving. Highly recommend this book for young children to learn Bible stories.

I love this re-telling of many many Bible stories. I sent one book to a family in Uganda, and have just returned from Kenya where I left a copy at a Christian School.

Friends, our school visitors use this Bible as the story basis for School Assemblies in our Junior Schools and we've presented several to youngsters over recent years. Using the CDs as 'bedtime story' sources is popular. John, Pastor, Ilfracombe Baptist Church.
